Artists: Active & Inactive

It is possible to set artists to either active or inactive. As these names suggest, an Active artist is one that we are actually actively working with. An Inactive artist is one we'd like to keep in the system but would like to hide from day-to-day work.

Why use active/inactive status?

One of the key ways this feature is used is when we're transitioning from a database of EOIs to a database of programmed artists. We usually get to a point where we have a huge list of acts - some will be approved, some will be tagged or have an artist approval status set to be notified of a successful application, and some will be set to be declined. At this point it's really helpful to clean up the database so we can only see artists that we'd like to program or are still undecided about. We would like to hide the rejected artists from view, but we don't want to delete them just yet. We still need them in the system so we can send the Declined notifications. We may also want to have them for a while in the system until our program is locked in.

How to set active/inactive

The easy way to set an artist as inactive is to navigate to the main artist listing and select the check-box next to any artists you are changing. Then use the dropdown menu at the top to “Toggle Active”. This will set the artist to inactive.

Once an artist is already set to inactive, it's the exact same process to toggle them back to active state.

Viewing inactive artists

Inactive artists are automatically hidden from view. You can view inactive artists from the main artist listing. In the grey box at the top right, the first drop-down lets you select to view active or inactive artists. Simply select 'inactive' from the dropdown and then hit the red Go button to load up the inactive artist listing.
